The sewing machine licence: Christmas stockings and bookbinding

As the cooler weather started to roll in, the students of classes 1E and 3E thought it was time to make their own Christmas stockings.

Firstly, white cotton needed to be washed, dyed and ironed. Every student used the same Christmas stocking pattern but a different Shibori dyeing technique. Secondly, two stocking pieces were stitched on top of each other, leaving the top open. Thirdly, a cuff was created by stitching down a piece of the fabric over the top of the stocking. Some stockings were decorated with ornaments. In the pictures, you can see the stockings as well as some books made out of board, linen thread and dyed fabric.
